Ohio HBPA Board Approves Strangles Quarantine Benevolence

At its meeting on Friday, May 17th the Ohio HBPA board of directors approved the following motion:
“The Ohio HBPA will aid in paying the expenses of owners which had a race horse(s) which were stabled in a barn in which track management or HISA ordered a Strangles quarantine for 30 days or more during the Mahoning Valley Race Course 2024 Winter-Spring meeting. Such owners are eligible to fill out a Strangles Quarantine Benevolence Form and after verification of the information the owner (as listed with Equibase) will be compensated $5 (Five dollars) per day per horse for the period which the barn was quarantined.”
