The barn area opens at Thistledown today, May 26th and on Saturday, May 30th at Belterra Park.
The following safety protocols have been put in place and must be followed by those in the barn area at either track.
1. A mask or face covering must be worn at all times.
2. Trainers are responsible for daily health screenings on their employees. (To help fulfill this requirement the Ohio HBPA has created a one-page form complete with instructions that a trainer can have his or her employees fill out each day. The form is available for download below and will also be available at the HBPA offices at both Belterra Park and Thistledown)
3. Trainers are required to provide hand sanitizer for their employees.
4. Those living in dorm rooms will be required to go to the HBPA office between the hours of 8am and 10am daily to have their temperatures checked via digital thermometers.
Below is a full list of the safety protocols approved by the Ohio State Racing Commission to allow for racing to resume without spectators in the state as well as the daily health screening form.
